Hello & Welcome!

Often, life transitions like adolescence, identity exploration, school changes, divorce, or challenges with friends and family, can leave us feeling disconnected from joy and belonging. Anxiety, stress, learning differences, and depression can often add to that weight.

I am here to help

As a compassionate, experienced therapist, I specialize in supporting tweens, teens, young adults, and parents. I work with individuals from all walks of life, honoring diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and abilities. What is common to us all is our desire for happiness and connection—and therapy can be a powerful step toward both. If you’re curious, ready, or simply exploring therapy options, please contact me.

Hi, I’m Carolyn

I truly love what I do. Working with adolescents and young adults is both inspiring and deeply important to me. It has been reported that Gen Z is facing more anxiety, depression, and emotional stress than any prior generation, which is why personalized support is so crucial. Helping clients navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and feel more grounded isn’t just part of my job; it’s what makes this work so meaningful.

Working together in therapy, we’ll build competency, self-awareness, and practical coping skills to face life’s challenges with confidence. Much of my career has been dedicated to helping young people and their families navigate the ups and downs of adolescence. My areas of focus include:

  • Anxiety and depression

  • Gender and identity exploration

  • Learning and developmental differences

  • Neurodivergent challenges

Supporting adolescents, young adults, and parents inspires me every day. Let’s work together toward a stronger and more confident future.

What Therapy Looks Like

Therapy looks and feels different for everyone.  It is both empowering and challenging, and it is okay if you are feeling some anxiety or trepidation.  That is common. Important things to notice are that you feel ready to make changes and that you find a therapist you feel comfortable with.

A goal of therapy is to help you better understand your emotions, behaviors, and perceptions, and how they are getting in the way of what you want.  In this process, you will begin to identify patterns and notice where and when they may be negatively impacting your life. I will provide a safe, nonjudgmental, respectful, and confidential space for you. Together, we will actively engage in the process of planning actions to enable change to occur. I will take care in assessing your concerns and in helping you to find the right solutions in order for you to feel happier and more confident.

My style draws upon more than twenty years of experience with children, young adults, and families. I have worked in schools, community centers, crisis agencies, and in patient programs.  Therapy is tailored to each person's unique needs and informed by theories such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness practice, and more.

I'm eager to guide and assist you in finding strategies and solutions to the problems you're facing.  And, I am committed to helping you feel confident in your abilities to manage your life struggles independently and away from the therapy office.  I won't just give you answers, I will give you tools to help you feel comfortable, competent, and in control. If you're ready for an appointment, let's talk

When Working With Kids & Young Adults

Therapy is a personal journey that can feel both empowering and challenging. It’s normal to have some anxiety or trepidation at first. What matters is your readiness to make changes and finding a therapist you trust.

In therapy, we’ll deepen your understanding of your emotions, behaviors, and perceptions, uncover the patterns that may be holding you back – while collaborating on actionable steps that can lead to meaningful, lasting change.

With over twenty years of experience supporting adolescents, young adults, and families, I provide a safe, respectful, and confidential environment where I draw on personalized, evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, and more.

I'm here to help you find practical strategies for the challenges you're facing—and to help build your confidence in handling them on your own. I offer tools, not just answers, so you can feel capable, comfortable, and in control. Ready to talk? Let's connect.

Privacy and autonomy for adolescents

I support a young person’s growing independence by protecting their privacy and encouraging autonomy. Privacy boundaries are discussed and agreed on with the adolescent at the start of treatment to create a safe space for honest work.

Parent meetings

Periodic parent-child or parent check-in sessions may be scheduled to share progress and coordinate care when helpful. These meetings are limited and focused on supporting treatment goals.

Therapy sessions

Individual therapy sessions are 50 minutes long. Typically, sessions are scheduled weekly, but we can discuss your preference and tailor it to your needs.

Payment

  • I accept Venmo, Zelle, and credit cards

  • Fees are paid at the time of your appointment

About cancellations

I understand things happen unexpectedly, and not everything is in your control. If you need to cancel an appointment, you must do so with 24 hours’ notice.

I look forward to hearing from you!
